After graduating from St. Luke’s Hospital in N.Y.C., I remained there as a Head Nurse for about seven years, during which time I attended Columbia University for my B.S. and traveled extensively overseas.

In ’67 I packed up and sailed to Europe for a year of fooling around and returned to work in Englewood Hospital, but only for a short time as I returned to live in Italy for the next 11 years.  I lived in Rome and did a variety of things to pay the rent (all legal) and eventually became the Dean of Students at St. Stephen’s School, a private American boarding and high school.  What an amazing and frequently stressful experience that was!

Returning stateside I found my way to California, where the rest of my family had migrated, and worked in Newport Beach at Hoag Hospital as an Administrative Coordinator developing the Oncology Service and particularly the free standing Cancer Center now on the site.  Then on to Sherman Oaks (after a brief stint in Savannah) to attend California State University at Northridge for a B.A. in Humanities with a concentration in Art History.  Graduated Magna Cum Laude and joined Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.  It was great fun being a student again.

Then on to Santa Barbara, CA, where I worked at Cottage Hospital as an Administrative Supervisor for several years before becoming Director of Nursing at a convalescent/rehab hospital.

Finally retired -- I now teach Art History for Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo and live in a +55 community across the street from the Pacific Ocean.  I am still adjusting to being a home owner and struggling to keep the garden growing!  I enjoy my new life and home and playing my harpsichord without having to worry about the neighbors!

This is the middle of the semester so I will not be joining you all but will spend the weekend of the reunion thinking of all of you, and I extend an open invitation for calls, e-mails or visits!  My best wishes and regards to each and everyone.
